Amanda and I discuss:

  • The lengths we go to convince people we’ve got it all together
  • What happens when you peel off the ‘party face’ and allow the truth of yourself to shine through
  • The real reason Amanda came out at the height of her acting career (trust me, you don’t do that lightly…)
  • The secrets of Hollywood and the truth behind why she left
  • The legacy Amanda wants to leave behind

More about Amanda Bearse

Amanda lives in Seattle and has enjoyed over 35 years in the entertainment industry.

She is most well known for her role in Married… With Children.

Amanda began directing television while appearing on Married… with Children, and from 1991 to 1997, she directed 31 episodes of the show.

Twenty-five years and over a hundred sitcom episodes later, including shows such as “Dharma & Greg”, “George Lopez”, and “Mad TV”. Amanda remains behind the camera and in the theatre directing and producing.

The latest play she is directing is called Party Face.

In 1993, at the height of her acting career, Amanda came out as a lesbian to the public with a cover article in the Advocate. Amanda is an LGBT activist and regularly promotes visibility and equal rights.
