What NOT To Say To A Transgender Person
Episode 3: Matt Ellison
This week on the show, Matt Ellison joins me to talk about Transgender Day of Visibility, which is on the 31st March 2018. I ask Matt the questions I know you really want to have answered.
Matt and I discuss:
- The process of transitioning
- How early in life a Trans individual can ‘know’ they are transgender (you will be shocked)
- What NOT to say to a Trans person
- How transitioning affects someone (getting raw and real…)
- The best ways to support a trans person – at home and at work
More about Matt Ellison
Matt is an inspiring and thought provoking transgender speaker.
He is a transgender male who transitioned from female to male in his late thirties. He went through life struggling. There were so many aspects it affected: from toilets, to clothes, career path (due to clothes), sports, relationships, social circle, plus so much more.
Matt would cry himself to sleep and prey he would wake up a boy. Can you imagine his disappointment at the start of each day?
He now shares his story and experiences of transitioning, to educate and raise awareness of transgender issues.
